sunrise

This past weekend was so great.
It put a big, content smile on my face.

We had a lot of good sports competition with soccer and football.
Some shopping.
Pictures.
Chocolate chip pumpkin muffins.
A Halloween movie to get October started off right.
By the way - didn't think it would be scary at all, but my little boy takes after his mommy with movies.
I tried to tell him over and over again, "it's just a movie."
But who am I kidding?
I know of a certain college roomie who reads this blog who right now is remembering me struggling through many movies at the student union.
P.S. Can't believe you still sat with me, even when I was freaking out (loudly).

At least with Austin, he snuggles very, very close for the whole movie- (not that my roommates wanted me in their laps)...
So it's worth freaking him out and giving him nightmares.

Anyway...where was I?

Oh, our weekend.

The best part was having my family around me and listening to some of the most uplifting messages ever.
We all felt love and peace and happiness.
There are some perks to having your kids all a bit more grown up...Conference time is definitely more meaningful these days.
I love sharing it with my family.

And Sunday morning, we started our day with something brilliant.
I say that because it was Chris's idea and it really was perfect.

We woke everyone up very early and drove somewhere where we could have peace and quiet and watch the sunrise.
And we talked about our Savior.

And ate donuts and drank hot cocoa.

We were excited that Carlie's best friend and her family were interested in joining us at the last minute.
It was a special morning.

Because we had company, the kiddos were more reluctant to share their feelings.
So we continued our testimony sharing for family night last night.
I treasure the great feeling that has been in our home.

Austin found a massive amount of ants and so he proceeded to do the ants-in-the-pants dance & song (to the tune of "pants on the ground").
It was very catchy and we were singing it all day.

And next you will see what happens the moment you turn your head.
Carson will be off exploring somewhere.

I am eternally grateful to be blessed with a sweet family that is learning and growing together.
And for the perfect teacher, example, and friend, Jesus Christ.
