being their entertainment

Chris was teaching our kids a lesson during family night last week about keeping a history.
He gave them many good suggestions for ways to record their lives and reasons why it might matter to them (and others) someday.
He told a story.
And then he pulled out something special.

Oh boy.
I wrote about our discovery of these books a few years ago here.

But this was the first time we had really shared them with the kids.
We each read a few excerpts out loud.

I'm not gonna lie, it's good for some laughs.

And then it was time for bed.
We tried to herd the kids off to get pajamas on, etc.

But they had picked up our books and we just couldn't tear them away.

This is what I heard, "Just 5 more minutes?"

"At least TWO??? PLEASE????"

I guess reading about mom and dad at your exact age is riveting.

And then this is what I saw...

I guess reading about mom and dad at your exact age is riveting. incredibly entertaining.

Chris, what are you doing on here? :)
And, honestly, WAS pretty funny...Don't make me scan in that page of funny faces you drew...

I think they just love mocking us. Have no idea where they get that from.

What great fun! More for the kids - so it seems. The last picture says it all!
