Carson had scout camp last weekend.
Here they are after working so, so hard to get their tent up.
Needed a break, I guess.
Now just tell me one thing.
What business does a teeny, tiny mosquito-bitten little guy like this have going off to scout camp and causing all kinds of ruckus?
It's just wrong, I tell ya.
He said he loved it and can't wait until next summer when he gets to stay for a whole week.
According to him, the favorite parts were the nature walk, seeing a salamander and a fox, learning how to properly use (aka playing with) knives & axes & saws, going to the trading post, eating, and being there with dad.
Chris did accompany him.
So while they were gone, the rest of us went to the circus.
Austin was EXCITED for it to start!
It was his first time.
And Carlie's, too.
Actually, I don't think I've been to a circus in my life, either.
Is that possible?
I do have a horrible memory.
I'm not sure that going after reading Water for Elephants is the best timing.
I felt worried about the animals and whether anyone would get thrown off the train tonight.
What? They don't ride a train out of Boise?
But we had a super fun evening.

Yep, just a bear chillin in a chair back there.

I don't blame you for not remembering the sad little circus we took you to when you were young. Although according to my recollection, our kids enjoyed it, it was definitely NOT the "biggest show on Earth!" It took place in a tent behind the old mall (Fred Meyer now.) I felt sorry for the dusty elephant in the summer heat. This one looks magnificent in comparison...Worth remembering!
What a cute photo of our "little" Carson! How young was he then?
